Il tutto nascerebbe da un autocandidatura del critico ferrarese avvenuta la scorsa settimana. Si pensi che in questi anni sono state tante le offerte di collaborazioni illustri rifiutate o non andate in porto alla fine (basti ricordare Zeffirelli per la festa di Santa Rosa o anche Scaparro per il teatro dell’Unione) che non si capisce perchè quella del personaggio televisivo Sgarbi debba essere accettata. Probabilmente perchè asseconderebbe le logiche populistiche televisive con cui viene gestita la cultura a Viterbo e i vari cosiddetti festival di scena in città che sembrano appendici di piazza di passerelle Tv. Logiche che hanno distrutto ogni possibile costruzione di un progetto di sviluppo della vetus urbs, invasa solo da venditori di loro prodotti provenienti da quel canale o quell’altro e poco importa se di libri o detersivi o nuove marche di patatine. All’interno di questo modo di fare cultura qualunquistico e di basso bordo, dove lo share diventa sinonimo di qualità anche se i soldi spesi sono pubblici (e si sa con quale accortezza bisognerebbe spendere questi ultimi) la candidatura di Sgarbi è conseguenziale: magari porterebbe con sè una città invasa da mostre d’arte di ideazione e produzione piuttosto enigmatica, ribalte continue per volumi del critico, ben pagate e frequenti consulenze che certo Michelini, Delli Iaconi e Barelli (grande sponsor dell’inventore di “sgarbi quotidiani”) gli concederebbero assai volentieri. Il filo sgarbismo, la sgarbimania convulsa sembra essere una malattia che ha colpito buona parte di questa amministrazione che non passerà certo alla storia per mancanza di conflitti di interesse, originalità di idee ed indipendenza di pensiero: Viterbo merita un avvenire migliore come candidata capitale della cultura, e sarebbe a queste condizioni persino più dignitoso l’oblìo…
